1. Cooling air effect.

The wings inside the cavity of the backing disc are shaped like those of a turbocharger. This shape, combined with the holes on the back of the support causes an air circulation that is not present in a traditional disc.

This air circulation has mainly two advantages:
1- cooling of metal that the operator is grinding, preventing or anyway decreasing metal overheating and pitting. This effect is particularly important in stainless steel working, where the visual look is often fundamental.
2- cooling of flaps’ cloth and prolongation of their lifetime. Cloth consumption is due, besides friction, also to cloth heating during working. This heating causes the decomposition of the resin that sticks abrasive grains to the cloth, makes them detach thus wearing out the disc.

2. Easy fixing.

The threaded bore allows the user to screw the disc to the grinder more easily and quickly. No more need of clamping flanges or relevant keys that always get lost or are not immediately reachable.
